Abstract

Lost circulation is a significant problem in drilling operations and recorded over 2 billion usds issued by a company to address this problem.Uncontrolled cost spending can have a profound effect on the efficiency or worth of a project because it has potential for loss.Evaluations and analysis of various data options related to lost circulation are performed to review the lost circulation methods that have been done on the Z field and provide an overview of the success and failure of methods in field applications reviewed by economic considerations and probability.Expected monetary value method (EMV ) and decisision tree analysis (DTAS ) is used to make decisions and select the best lost circulation method of any kind of loss at minimum cost. The best method to address a partial loss problem is a 20-50 ppb spot lcm pill, With a $5456 emv value, 67% chance of success. The total cost of this method is between $1225-14000.The best method to solve the problem of total loss is pump/spots lcm 40-60 bbls 40-80 ppb caco3 + additive. This method has a value of $27951 emv with a chance of success at 88%. Total rejection costs between $1472-8840
