Abstract

Cementing is a process of pushing cement slurry into the wellbore through the casing towards the casing-formation annulus and left for a while until it dries and hardens so that it can lay the casing with the formation. To increase the strength of drilling cement, this is done by adding pozzolanic mineral materials. Pozzolans are natural or artificial materials that contain silica. One of the natural materials that contain silica is bamboo where bamboo is one of the monocotyledonous plants and is included in the grass family of the Poaceae family. This research was conducted to determine the effect of silica derived from bamboo on the strength of drilling cement, namely Thickening time, compressive strength and shear bond strength with a research temperature of 600C and a pressure of 14.7 psi. In addition, this research is also to determine the concentration of bamboo that produces the optimum thickening time, compressive strength and shear bond strength. in this study using bamboo ash with various concentrations used starting from 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2% and 2.5%. The results of the thickening time test for the addictive variant were 132 minutes, 154 minutes, 176 minutes, 198 minutes, 186 minutes and 175 minutes. From the test, the thickening time value would be optimal at a concentration of 1.5%. The results of the compressive stranght test with the same concentration variant were 625,130 psi, 693,560 psi, 850,307 psi, 910,333 psi, 862,511 psi and 790,677 psi and finally the shear bond stranght value from the test with the same concentration of bamboo ash was 208,276 psi, 250.47 6 psi, 273,732 psi, 282,856 psi, 204,144 and 143,144 psi, from the test results the compressive stranght and shear born stranght values will be optimal at a concentration of 1.5% addition of black bamboo ash.
