Abstract
The traffic lane engineering technical policy is an attempt to unravel congestion on the Riau Street planned by the Pekanbaru city transportation service, namely implementing a one-way traffic flow on Riau Street from East to West, and instead using alternative roads namely Kayu Manis Street, Pemuda Street. and Kulim Street. This one-way road plan has resulted in concerns over traffic flow that will enter alternative roads. The purpose of this study was to determine the existing performance of Riau Street and the results of traffic lane engineering policies on Riau Street. This research method is a survey and analysis method using the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997. The results of this study indicate that the existing performance of the Riau Street section obtained DS of 0.92 on busy days and 0.78 on off-peak days. Kayu Manis Street of 0.76 and 0.46. Pemuda Street of 0.68 and 0.50. Kulim Street by 0.71 and 0.56. After carrying out scenario 1 on the Riau Street section, the DS is 0.51 on busy days and 0.42 on off-peak days, while in scenario 2 it is 0.56 and 0.40. Kayu Manis Street in scenario 1 is 1.38 and 0.97, while scenario 2 is 1.43 and 0.99. Pemuda Street in scenario 1 of 1.74 and 1.32, scenario 2 of 1.74 and 1.34. Jalan Kulim in scenario 1 is 1.33 and 1.09, while scenario 2 is 1.38 and 1.09. This shows an increase in the performance of the Riau Street section after scenarios 1 and 2 were carried out, but as a result the alternative road became severely congested because it was unable to accommodate runoff from the Riau Street. The best solution to solve this problem is to widen the road on the Riau Street section.
