Abstract
Sungai Berbari Village is one of the honey producing villages in Pusako District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. This research aims to: (1) Identify the Characteristics of Breeders and the Business Profile of Honey Bee Farmers (2) Analyze Costs, Production, Income and Efficiency of Honey Bee Farmers (3) Analyze Household Income and Contribution of Honey Bee Business Income to Household Income of Honey Bee Farmers in Sungai Berbari Village, Pusako District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. This research was carried out for 6 months starting from November 2023 to April 2024 in Sungai Sungai Berbari Village, Pusako District, Siak Regency. The census sampling technique is: The sample in this study was 24 people. Data was analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of this research show: 1) Characteristics of honey beekeepers: average age 37.33 years, high school education level/equivalent, 2 years business experience, 3 family dependents. The honey bee business profile was founded in 2019, the business capital is own capital and loan capital in the amount of IDR 53,937,500, the business scale is a small business and the workforce uses 2 HOK (care) and 6 HOK (harvesting). 2) The structure of costs, production, income and efficiency of the honey bee business, namely an average workforce of 2 HOK for maintenance and 6 HOK for harvesting, Meanwhile, the fixed costs incurred by farmers each month are Rp. 1,250,638.89, production costs are IDR 2.430.638,89/ month, average production is 171.5 Kg/month, honey price is IDR 40,000/kg, average gross income is IDR 6,860,000/month, average net income is IDR 4.429.361,11/month, The RCR value is 2.82, which means that the honey bee farming business is worth pursuing. 3) Household income consists of honey bee business income IDR 4.429.361,11/month, oil palm farming income IDR 2,854,166.67/month and non-farming income IDR 2,060,000/month. The income contribution from the honey bee farming business was 47.40%, which means that the income from the honey bee farming business contributed greatly to the income of the farmer's household.
