Abstract

One area in the city of Pekanbaru that often experiences inundation or flooding is the Jalan HR Soebrantas area. If high-intensity rain on a number of HR Soebrantas roads experience waterlogging, this causes long traffic jams in the road space. The cause of inundation that occurred on Jalan HR Soebrantas was the capacity of the channel that was not able to accommodate surface flow runoff optimally and there was a lot of garbage and sediment around the drainage channel. The purpose of this study was to determine the existing condition of drainage channels and inundation control efforts carried out on Jalan Soebrantas in Pekanbaru City. The methods used in this study are analysis of rainfall distribution using Log Pearson Type III, design rainfall with 2-year and 5-year birthdays, calculation of design flood discharge using rational methods. The result obtained is that the existing condition of the drainage channel on Jalan HR Soebrantas Pekanbaru City is overflowing by 3,143 m³ / second (Qkanal 6,566 m³ / second < QDesign 9,709 m³ / second) occurs in drainage channel number 2. Efforts to control inundation on Jalan HR Soebrantas in Pekanbaru City were carried out by planning two scenarios in drainage channels. Scenario 1 deepens the channel (H = 1.3 m) and scenario 2 changes the cross-sectional geometry of the channel to square (H= 1.23 m and B= 2.46 m).
