Abstract
Construction work, one of which is highway pavement on clay soil, often experiences problems, cracks on the road surface and landslides on the road body due to low soil carrying capacity. One of the parameters that becomes a benchmark in determining the ability of soil to make transportation facilities as roads is the value of soil carrying capacity or what is often referred to as the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) value using clay soil in Tenaya Raya District, Pekanbaru City and trying to stabilize clay soil. by using the added ingredients of palm fiber ash and vegetable waste bacteria. The soil stabilization method is a soil improvement method that is often used to improve the technical properties of the soil so that the soil becomes better. The value of soil carrying capacity is categorized as good if the CBR value for field testing is 3% and laboratory testing is 6%. Variation of a mixture of 0%, 5% palm fiber ash and 4% vegetable waste bacteria with a sample curing time of 0 days and 7 days and sample soaking for 4 days. Based on the results of the CBR test on native soil during the 0-day curing period of 5.87%, the CBR value during the 7-day curing period is 9.21%. The CBR value for 5% mixed soil of palm fiber ash during the 0 day curing period was 10.183%, and 14.1% for 7 days. For the CBR value of 4% mixed soil, vegetable waste bacteria during the curing period of 0 days was 2.86%, and 7 days was 10.813%. As for the CBR value on a mixed soil of 5% oil palm fiber ash, and 4% vegetable waste bacteria during the 0 day curing period of 4.513%, and 7 days of 10.92%. The length of curing time and the addition of mixed variations is one of the factors that influence the value of the CBR, the longer the curing time and the more variations in the mix, the CBR value will further increase in both native and mixed soils.
