Abstract
“Business Analysis and Marketing of Dumbo Catfish Seedlings in Hangtuah Village, Perhentian Raja District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province” Supervised by. Hajry Arief Wahyudy, SP., M.MA The dumbo catfish seed business in Hangtuah Village is very important to increase farmers' income. This study aims to (1). Determine the characteristics of entrepreneurs and marketers, as well as the profile of the dumbo catfish seed business (2). Analyze technology, use of production factors, production costs, production, income, and efficiency of the catfish seed business. (3) Analyze the marketing of catfish seeds consisting of; channels, institutions, marketing functions, marketing costs, marketing margins, farmer share and marketing efficiency. The method used in this study is the survey method. This research was conducted in Hangtuah Village, Perhentian Raja District, Kampar Regency from April 2023 to August 2024. The sample was 10 dumbo catfish seed entrepreneurs. While the sample of traders was 4 people using random sampling techniques . The results of the study showed that the characteristics of dumbo catfish entrepreneurs and traders include the productive age group of 36.80 years, 12 years of education (equivalent to high school), 9.53 years of business experience (considered old), and having 3 family members (small). The business profile consists of the area of the pond with an average of the total amount of each around 190 m2 with a depth of 61 cm. Average annual sales of IDR 146,190,512 / year and an average amount of capital of IDR 9,654,200. The dumbo catfish seed business shows that with an average area of the farmer's pond of 202 units / m2 and the number of HoK of 11.68. (b) Production costs of IDR 25,875,442 / production period, with the largest cost component being the parent worth IDR 16,618,221. (c) Gross income is obtained at Rp 32,852,000/production period, with a production of 357,000 tail and a selling price of Rp 92/tail. While net income is Rp 16,243,390/production period. (d) RCR is obtained at 1.99. This means that the business is efficient and feasible to run. In the marketing of dumbo catfish in Hangtuah Village, the costs incurred by agent traders in marketing dumbo catfish seeds are such as oxygen costs of Rp. 10.00//tail, rubber costs of Rp. 0.10/tail, transportation costs of Rp. 10.00/tail, packaging costs of Rp. 0.05/tail, while the risk cost of seeds dying in transit is Rp. 10.00/tail and the total marketing costs are Rp. 30.15/tail. The margin at the agent trader level is Rp. 38.00. The profit received by the agent trader is Rp. 8.15/tail. efficiency in marketing dumbo catfish seeds is 0.23%. The greater the efficiency value means the marketing channel is increasingly inefficient, because a large efficiency value means that the marketing costs incurred to deliver the products to consumers are also large and the price comparison received by dumbo catfish seed entrepreneurs is 0.70% of the price paid by fish farmers.
