Abstract

This research aims to determine the interaction and main effects of POC plus pineapple peel waste and NPK fertilizer on the growth and production of bean plants (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). This research was carried out at the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution KM 11 No. 113, Air Winter Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City for 3 months from February to April 2024. This research used a Completely Randomized Factorial Design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the POC concentration of pineapple peel waste plus 4 treatment levels, namely 0, 40, 80 and 120 ml/L of water. The second factor is NPK fertilizer consisting of 5 treatment levels, namely 0, 6, 12, 18 and 24 g/plot. The parameters observed were the nutrient content N, P and K POC of pineapple peel plus waste, stem diameter, flowering age, percentage of flowers becoming fruit, harvest age, number of pods per plant, pod weight per plant, pod length and number of remaining pods per plant . The observation data was analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results of the research showed that the interaction of giving POC plus pineapple peel waste and NPK fertilizer had a real influence on all observed parameters. The best treatment is a concentration of POC from pineapple peel waste plus 120 ml/l water and an NPK dose of 24 g/plot. The main effect of giving POC plus pineapple peel waste was significant on all observed parameters. The best treatment is at a concentration of 120 ml/l water. In particular, the application of NPK fertilizer has a real influence on all observed parameters. The best treatment is at a dose of 24 g/plot.
