Abstract

The purpose in this research examined to describe the problems and solutions to overcome reading skill in Arabic subject for class X students at Islamic Senior High School 2 Pekanbaru. The approach in this research was qualitative approach with descriptive research type. Data collection technique used observation, interview, and documentation. Research finding in this research found that the problem of reading skill in Arabic subject for class X students at Islamic senior high school 2 Pekanbaru as follows: pronunciation, sentence pattern, vocabulary and writing style. The effort of Arabic teacher in overcoming this problem that was giving guidance in spelling hijaiyah letter correctly, suitable with pronunciation and also giving homework and task. The effort by students in overcoming this problem that was memorizing vocabulary repeatedly, and writing memorizing vocabulary in notebook and doing homework and task from teacher.
