Abstract

This study aims to investigate whether there is a relationship between reading the Quran ability and reading Arabic text ability for female students at the Ummu Sulaim Islamic Boarding School of Pekanbaru. This is a quantitative study with a correlational approach. The population of the study are female students in grade VIII at the Umm Sulaim Islamic Boarding School, totaling 131 female students with a sample of 66 female students. The data collection techniques of the study are tests and documentation, while the data analysis technique using the Pearson Correlation Analysis test performed by SPSS version 62. The results of the study show that the reading Arabic text ability of female students in grade VIII at the Ummu Sulaim Islamic Boarding School is included in a good category and it indicates that there is a relationship between reading the Quran ability and reading Arabic text ability of female students in grade VIII at the Ummu Sulaim Islamic Boarding School of Pekanbaru with a significance value of 2022 and a correlation coefficient value of 20750. It means that this relationship is included in the strong category.
