Abstract

The background of the study is that there are still many people who lack capital in developing their businesses. With the existence of micro KUR (In Indonesian, KUR stands for Kredit Usaha Rakyat meaning People’s Business Credit) financing at Indonesian Sharia Bank that can help MSME actors in developing their businesses. This study aims to investigate the role of Micro KUR financing at Indonesian Sharia Bank of Arifin Ahmad Branch Office in Pekanbaru. The subject of the study is the employees of the finance department and the customers of Micro KUR financing at Indonesian Sharia bank of Arifin Ahmad Branch Office in Pekanbaru, and the object of the study is the role of Micro KUR financing in developing customers’ businesses at Indonesian Sharia Bank of Arifin Ahmad Branch Office in Pekanbaru. The type of the study is field research with a qualitative approach conducted at Indonesian Sharia Bank of Arifin Ahmad Branch office in Pekanbaru. The data collection techniques of the study are observation, interviews, documentation. The results of the study show that the role of Micro KUR financing at the Indonesian Sharia bank of Arifin Ahmad branch office in Pekanbaru plays an important role in developing customers’ businesses by providing additional business capital, providing business education to customers, and providing supervision so that the financing runs well according to what is expected and the business can grow so that there is a change in the economic status of each customer.
