Abstract

Active users of TikTok social media are used as an arena for existence and bring up the need for self-actualization so that a sense of satisfaction is achieved. The phenomenon in society, especially teenagers, makes TikTok social media one of self-actualization. Teenagers actualize themselves in a positive way. The adolescent development period is indicated by the maturity of each individual. Adolescence is a phase to fulfill needs and determine identity or identity. Expressing oneself through TikTok these activities can steal attention and appreciation from someone it contributes to the process of self-actualization. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the intensity of TikTok use on self-actualization in adolescents in Pekanbaru City. This study uses the S-O-R Theory with the assumption that the stimulus (message) given to the organism (group) will cause a response. This research uses quantitative methods with a sample size of 100 people. Sampling was done by non-probality sampling method using purposive sampling technique using a questionnaire as an instrument and processed using SPSS For Windows 26. To see the quality relationship in this study using Simple Linear Regression Test. The results were found to be significant, with the t test results obtained tcount> ttable = 10.666> 1.987, meaning that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the intensity of using TikTok social media with self-actualization of adolescents in Pekanbaru City.
