Abstract

This research was motivated by lack of stduents’ learning achievement at Islamic junior high school Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. Learning achievement was very important in learning process because it was got by someone after they got development experience that could give behavior change about information, experience, mentality, and students’ ability to make them better than before. Learning achievement would give positive difference, when they showed new ability in doing task and answering question in test given appropriately and accurately. The symptoms that could be seen from students such as: students lack of interest in leaning fiqh subject, they lack of concentration in learning process and they lack of showing idea. The formulation of problem in this research questioned what was through audio visual media could more develop students’ class VII learning achievement in fiqh subject (thaharah) at Islamic junior high school Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. The purpose in this research examined to know the improvement of students’ learning achievement in Fiqh subject (thaharah) at class VII Islamic junior high school Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. The subject in this research was students’ class VII at Islamic junior high school Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru, and the object was audio visual media. Data collection technique was observation, test, and documentation. This research implemented class action research with two cycles where every cycles consisted of 4 actions; planning, action, observation, and reflections. Based on data analysis that was got from school, it could be known that in cycle 1, students’ learning achievement that used audio visual media classified into low category with percentage 30%, and researcher continued with cycles II that learning achievement improved to very good category with percentage 75%. This research could be concluded that the use of audio visual media could improve students’ learning achievement in fiqh subject (thaharah) at class VII Islamic junior high school Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru.
