Abstract
This research was conducted to known the purpose in implementing drill method in improving Al-Qur?an reading ability for students? class 1 at Islamic elementary school As Syahidah Pinggir. The level of Al-Qur?an reading ability that was with spelling hijaiyah letter especially halqi letter that classified into low because it was not suitable with its makhraj. This researchw as class action research. The subject was students class 1A Islamic elemenatry school As Syahidah Pinggir with 27 students. Data collection technique used observation and test that happened to two cycles. Based on data collected, it could be known that score before drill method implemented got average 49%. After implementing drill method with cycle 1, there was any improvement students? score with average 66%. Because stduents? average score was still not pass the grade, researcher continuod to cycle 2. In cycle 2, students? score improved with average 83%. This research finding concluded that the implementation of drill method could improve students? AlQur?an reading ability for students? class 1 at Islamic elementary school As Syahidah Pinggir.
