Abstract

This study is motivated by the low morals of foster children in an orphanage. The problem formulation of the the study is whether there is an influence of Islamic parenting on the morals of foster children at the Islamiyah Al-Ikhlas orphanage of Bagan Sinembah District, Bagan Baru regency. This study aims to investigate whether the Islamic parenting has an influence on the morals of foster children at the Islamiyah Al-Ikhlas orphanage of Bagan Sinembah district, Bagan Batu regency. This is a quantitative correlational study. The subject of the study is the foster children at the Islamiyah Al-Ikhlas orphanage. The object of the study is the influence of Islamic parenting on the morals of foster children at the Islamiyah Al- Ikhlas orphanage of Bagan Sinembah district, Bagan Baru regency. The sample of the study consists of 81 foster children. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires and documentation. Based on the data analysis, it is known that there is an influence of Islamic parenting on the morals of foster children at the Islamiyah Al-Ikhlas orphanage of Bagan Sinembah district, Bagan Batu regency. It is known that the results of simple linear regression analysis with a significance value of 0.000, because 0.000 is less than 0.05, so the alternative hypothesis is accepted. The magnitude of the influence of Islamic parenting is 0.445 or 44.5% which is categorized as moderate, because it is in the range of 0.40 – 0599 as in the correlation coefficient interpretation table, while the remaining 55.5% is influenced by other factors.
