Abstract
The background of the study is how the role of Islamic Studies teachers in carrying out and implementing moral development at SMAN 01 Tapung Hulu. Recently, there are many irregularities related to students’ morals both at school and outside the school environment, such as opposing teachers, speaking rude to older people and many more irregularities that occur. This is a qualitativedescriptive study. The data collection techniques of the study are documentation, Interview, and Observation. The interviewees of the study are 3 Islamic Studies teachers and 3 students at SMAN 10 Pekanbaru. The data analysis steps of the study are data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study show that the Islamic Studies teachers at SMAN 01 Tapung Hulu have played an active role in fostering students’ morals at SMAN 01 Tapung Hulu. It can be seen from the methods used by the teachers, namely by exemplary, habituation, and moral development through teaching.
