Abstract

This study aims to investigate whether the implementation of Numbered Head Together (NHT) of cooperative learning model can improve students’ outcomes in learning Islamic Studies in grade 7 at SMPN 6 Siak Hulu because the average scores of students’ learning outcomes in this school are still low. The type of this study is a Classroom Action Research. The subject of the study is the 7th grade students of SMPN 6 Siak Hulu for the 2023/2024 academic year. The data collection techniques of the study are observation and tests. Based on the data results, it is known that the students’ learning outcomes before implementing the Numbered Head Together (NHT) of cooperative learning model were still relatively low with an percentage of 35% for the written test aspect. However, after implementing the Numbered Head Together (NHT) of cooperative learning model in cycle I, the students’ learning outcomes increased by 76% for the written test aspect. Because the test results in cycle I had not reached the passing grade, so the researcher continued to do the study in cycle II. In cycle II, the average scores increased to 94% with the complete category and the study was not continued to the next cycle. In conclusion, the implementation of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) of cooperative learning model can improve students’ outcomes in learning Islamic Studies in grade 7 of SMPN 6 Siak Hulu.
