Abstract

This research was motivated by a big head master role in improving Islamic education teacher’s professionalism. The purpose in this research examined to know head master effort in improving Islamic education teacher’s professionalism at senior high school 1 Ukui Pelalawan Regency and examined to know head master supporting and obstacles factors in improving Islamic education teacher’s professionalism at senior high school 1 Ukui Pelalawan regency. The informant in this research consisted of three (3) persons, Mr. Noral, S.S.,S.Pd.I as headmaster and main informant, Mr. Sapadi as Islamic education teacher, and Mrs. Munengsih were supporting informant. Data collection technique used observation, interview and documentation. This research used qualitative method with case study approach. Research finding showed that head master’s effort in improving Islamic education teacher’s professionalism was doing pedagogic competence improvement, personality, professionalism. Also, socialize such as giving direct and routine surprise to teacher, giving additional task to Islamic education teacher related to religiosity, directing Islamic education teacher in developing their material and creating interesting concept to learn Islamic education subject and directing Islamic education teacher to do direct communication and socialize with them. (2) Supporting Factors such as teacher’s spirit and motivation in improving and developing their competence. (3) Lack of training because lack of information from regency and province.
