Abstract

This research was motivated by lack of students’ understanding in fiqh subject especially taharah material and it could affect to students’ achievement. Some of students were got underrate score in 70, even teacher had been explain the material well. Teacher’s teaching method was not give various method, especially demonstration method. Research formulation questioned how was the effect of demonstrate method on students’ understanding in fiqh subject at Islamic junior high school Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. The purpose in this research examined to know the effect of demonstration method on students’ understanding in fiqh subject at Islamic junior high school Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru. The population in this research involved 97 students. This research consisted of variable X (demonstration method) and variable Y (students’ understanding). The method in this research used quantitative method with correlational approach. Based on data analysis, it could be concluded that the hypothesis was accepted where there was any effect of demonstration method on students’ understanding.It was got from hypothesis testing in ANOVA table with significant score 0.000 or 0.05 ? 0.000. The effect level of demonstration method on students’ understanding was very in 0.189 or 18.9% in range (0.00 – 0.199) meanwhile others 81.1% was effected by others factors. It could be predicted that when demonstration method was improved, it could give contribution to improve students’ understanding in 0.434 or 43.4%. It could be concluded that research finding stated that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Because this research explained that there did any effect of using demonstration method (variable X) toward students’, understand (variable Y) students class VII at Islamic junior high school Miftahul Hidayah pekanbaru. Thus, the hypothesis in this research was accepted. It meant that there was any effect of usingdemonstration method on students’ understanding in fiqh subject class VII at Islamic junior high school Miftahul Hidayah Pekanbaru.
