Abstract

Research entitled The Effect of Palm Oil Bunch Ash Fertilizer and TSP Fertilizer on the Yield of Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.), was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City, from July to September 2023. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of palm oil bunch ash fertilizer and TSP fertilizer on the yield of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.). The study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the dose of palm oil bunch ash fertilizer (A), consisting of 4 levels, namely: 0; 600; 1,200; 1,800 g/plot and the second factor is the dose of TSP fertilizer (T) consisting of 4 levels, namely: 0; 7.5; 15; 22.5 g/plot. The parameters observed were plant height, number of tillers, harvest age, number of tubers per clump, wet tuber weight per plot, dry tuber weight per plot, wet tuber weight per clump, dry tuber weight per clump, tuber shrinkage percentage and tuber grade. The data were analyzed statistically and continued with the 5% BNJ test. The results showed that the interaction of giving oil palm bunch ash and TSP fertilizer had a significant effect on the number of tillers, harvest age, number of tubers per clump, wet tuber weight per clump, dry tuber weight per clump, wet tuber weight per plot and dry tuber weight per plot. The best treatment was given a combination of 1,800 g/plot of oil palm bunch ash fertilizer and 22.5 g/plot of TSP fertilizer. The main effect of giving oil palm bunch ash was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment was 1,800 g/plot. The main effect of TSP fertilizer was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment was 22.5 g/plot. Keywords: Oil Palm Bunch Ash, Shallots, TSP
