Abstract

The purpose in this research examined to know the influence of giving reward on students’ learning motivation in Islamic education subject at class VII junior high school 9 Pekanbaru. The method used in this research was correlational quantitative research type. The subject in this research was students’ class VII junior high school 9 Pekanbaru, and the object in this research was the influence of giving reward on students’ learning motivation at junior high school 9. The population in this research was 70 students, because the total population was less than 100, researcher took conclusion that this research used total sampling. Data collection technique used questionnaire. Based on data analysis, it was known that there was any influence of giving reward on learning motivation at class VII in Islamic education subject at junior high school 9 Pekanbaru. It was known from simple linear regression analysis result with significant score 0.000 smaller than 0.05, and the hypothesis was accepted. The influence score could be seen from summary table where R square score 0.697 or 69.7%. it showed that learning motivation was influenced by giving reward in 69.7% and classified into strong category. Furthermore, it could draw conclusion from research finding that there was any influence of giving reward on students’ learning motivation in Islamic education subject at class VII junior high school 9 Pekanbaru.
