Abstract

Student discipline problems at SD Islam Plus YLPI are closely related to the personal characteristics of teachers at the school. This research is very important to carry out because teacher personal competence plays a crucial role in shaping student discipline, which is a fundamental aspect in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of teacher personal competence on student discipline in grade IV of SD Islam Plus YLPI. The method in this study uses a quantitative approach with an associative research type with a research design using correlation. The population in this study were all grade IV students of SD Islam Plus YLPI, totaling 65 people in the 2023/2024 school year. The sample used was 44 students. Where 22 students were from class IVB and 22 students were from class IVC. While class IVA was used for instrument trials. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study was a simple linear regression analysis technique. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an influence between variable X on variable Y, namely personal competence with student discipline in grade IV of SDIP YLPI Pekanbaru, with a t-value of 3.071 with a significance value of 0.004 smaller than 0.05, which means that variable X (personal competence) has an effect on variable Y (student discipline).
