Abstract
This research was motivated by the importance of critical thinking for individuals, making it a focus for continuous improvement and development, as well as the presence of students at Al Hikmah IT Junior High School who were still lacking in critical thinking skills. This study aimed to determine the influence of the STAD cooperative learning model on students' critical thinking in Islamic education for Grade IX at Al Hikmah IT Junior High School, Kandis District, Siak Regency. This type of research was quantitative with a correlational approach, intending to find out whether there was a relationship or influence between the two variables. The population in this study consisted of Grade IX students at Al Hikmah IT Junior High School, Kandis District, Siak Regency. The sample used saturated sampling, meaning the entire population became the research sample, totaling 68 students. The results of the study explained that the STAD cooperative learning in Islamic education fell into the good category, and critical thinking also fell into the good category. Based on the hypothesis test, a sig. value of 0.00 was obtained, which is less than the sig. value of 0.05. These results indicated that there was an influence of the STAD cooperative learning model on students' critical thinking in Islamic education for Grade IX at Al Hikmah IT Junior High School, Kandis District, Siak Regency.
