Abstract

This research was motivated by the low motivation of students at Elementary School 102 Pekanbaru. It was important for students to have motivation to learn because it was the main factor in learning, which functioned to arouse, underlie, and drive learning behavior. The research question was: how did Islamic Education teachers make efforts to improve the learning motivation of Grade V students at Elementary School 102 Pekanbaru? The purpose of the study was to determine the efforts of Islamic Education teachers in improving the learning motivation of Grade V students at Elementary School 102 Pekanbaru. The type of research was qualitative with a case study approach. The informants of the study were two Islamic Education teachers who taught in Grade V at Elementary School 102 Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques used interviews and documentation. The results of the study explained that there were four efforts made by Islamic Education teachers to improve the learning motivation of Grade V students at Elementary School 102 Pekanbaru, That were: Teachers Motivating Students, Teachers Providing Appreciation, Teachers Providing Discussion Space, and Teachers Providing Support.
