Abstract

This study is motivated by the problems of several students who experience a decline in courtesy towards teachers, parents and friends, for example some students tend to speak in harsh language, loud tones, and joke when the teacher is explaining the lessons, this cannot be separated from the influence of teachers’ religious behavior on students’ courtesy. The aim of the study is to find out how the teachers’ religious behavior influences the students’ courtesy at MTSN 1 Pelalawan. The problem formulation of the study is how the teachers’ religious behavior influences the students’ courtesy at MTSN 1 Pelalawan. This is a quantitative study with a correlational approach and simple linear regression analysis. The data collection technique is carried out by collecting questionnaires. The population of the study consists of 57 students and the entire population is used as a sample. From the results of the data analysis performed by SPSS, it is obtained that Y = 37.355 + 0.736 , then students’ courtesy will increase by 37,355. This shows that the teachers’ religious behavior influences the students’ courtesy. The value of the coefficient of determination (R-Squared) is 0.770 or 77.0%, which is in the range 0.60-0.799, it indicates that based on the interpretation of the Correlation Coefficient, the teachers’ religious behavior and students’ courtesy are in the strong category. So, it can be concluded that there is a fairly strong influence of teachers’ religion behaviour on students’ courtesy at MTSN 1 Pelalawan.
