Abstract

Thesis. Dysphemism in the Indonesian Ministry of Health's Facebook Account About the Corona Virus The background of this research is to describe the form and function of dysphemism in the Indonesian Ministry of Health's Facebook account about the corona virus. The problem in this study is what forms and functions of dysphemism are used by netizens in comments on the Indonesian Ministry of Health's Facebook account about the corona virus. This type of research includes qualitative research. The object of research is the utterances of Facebook netizens in the form of words, phrases and expressions. The source of research data comes directly from the words of netizens in the comments column on the Indonesian Ministry of Health's Facebook account. This research was obtained through observation on existing data. Data analysis techniques were reading each data obtained carefully, classifying data based on the form and function of dysphemism, presenting data based on the form and function of dysphemism, analyzing data based on the form and function of dysphemism, and making conclusions on the research conducted. The research was studied in May, June, July and August 2021. So, the results found in the study contained 35 data. The results of this study indicate that there are three forms of dysphemism, namely dysphemism in the form of 22 data words, dysphemism in the form of 9 data phrases, and dysphemism in the form of expressions of 4 data. As for the function of dysphemism, there are five functions, namely as a sign of anger as much as 9 data, as a means to criticize as much as 6 data, as a means to satire as much as 8 data, as a means to insult as many as 6 data, and as a means to declare taboo or indecent things as many as 6 data.
