Abstract

In an effort to realize law enforcement in Indonesia, the emphasis is on the police. The role of the police as law enforcers has a significant role in overcoming a crime. Including the Sukajadi Police Sector, where in 2021 there was a Theft Crime with a total of 27 cases. Then, in 2022 there was an increase in Theft Crime cases to 28 cases. In 2023 there was a slight decrease in Theft Crimes to 25 casesBased on the background description, the problem can be formulated as . follows: How is the Implementation of Investigation and Settlement of Aggravated Theft Cases in the Sukajadi Police Sector Area and What are the obstacles to the Implementation of Investigation and Settlement of Aggravated Theft Cases in the Sukajadi Police Sector Area. This research is an empirical research with a descriptive analytical research nature. This research was conducted at the Sukajadi Police Sector Office with 7 respondents. This study uses primary data, secondary data and tertiary data. The data collection tools in this study were interviews and documentation with qualitative data analysis methods. And using the deductive method as a method of drawing conclusions. The results of this study are that the implementation of the Investigation of the Settlement of the Criminal Case of Theft in the Sukajadi Police Sector Area has elements in the form of police reports/complaints/in the case of being caught red-handed, a work order, an arrest warrant, a detention letter and minutes of examination of witnesses, victims, suspects, evidence and the scene of the crime. In the examination of a case or investigation of a criminal event, the most important thing is to find and collect evidence through the process of information, interrogation and instrumentarium. Obstacles to the Implementation of the Investigation of the Settlement of the Criminal Case of Theft in the Sukajadi Police Sector Area occur due to two factors, internal factors in the form of human resources and work pressure and external factors in the form of public fear of becoming witnesses, criminals who are good at eliminating traces and high crime rates.
