Abstract

The Role of the Civil Service Police Unit in Controlling Warung Reman-Remang (Study on the Pekanbaru-Riau Satpol PP) By: Irwan Hernanda Abstract The development of the entertainment sector is one sector that has experienced quite good growth in Pekanbaru City. This of course brings consequences or impacts, both positive and negative. As an area that is undergoing development, Pekanbaru City of course has many entertainment venues from various classes. One of the places of entertainment that is widely used by the people of Pekanbaru City is the establishment of "Warung Remang-remang" which is considered to feel the community because it is considered to violate public order. Local governments need to anticipate so that the existence of such entertainment venues is not misused or categorized as a violation of public order. Through a qualitative research approach, this research resulted in the problems faced by Satpol PP in carrying out enforcement activities, lack of coordination by the relevant agencies in the process of controlling dimly lit stalls. With the size of the city of Pekanbaru and the small number of Satpol PP members with a lack of coordination, it is difficult to complete order and the public's lack of understanding of regional regulations. From the identification of the character of the crime and the supporting situation, situational crime prevention efforts aim to create a design condition that can prevent crime, so the control approach taken by the Civil Service Police Unit is intended as a situational prevention effort.
