Abstract

The crime of abuse is included in crimes against body parts which are a series of violent acts that can cause victims to suffer various kinds of physical suffering and the victim's psychological condition will also be disturbed due to certain causes. However, such things do not make Indonesia a country that is free from criminal cases, crimes such as abuse often occur in society. Because of the great losses experienced by the victim, it is the obligation of law enforcement officers, especially the Police, to handle criminal acts of abuse that cause serious injuries seriously and fairly. The main problem in this study is how the police's efforts in overcoming cases of criminal acts of abuse in the jurisdiction of the Tenayan Raya Police and what are the obstacles for the police in overcoming cases of criminal acts of abuse in the jurisdiction of the Tenayan Raya Police. The research method used in this study is a survey, while the nature of this study is descriptive. The population in this study amounted to 1 (one) investigator with an accidental sampling technique and the data collection tool used was an interview. From the results of the author's research, it is known that the role of the Police in overcoming criminal acts of assault resulting in serious injuries in the preventive field is in the form of raids on night entertainment venues, carrying out routine patrol activities and providing counseling to the community, while the role of the Police in the repressive field is to conduct investigations and inquiries, the results of which will be submitted to the Public Prosecutor for prosecution in court, and the inhibiting factors in these efforts are limited resources, inequality of access to services, lack of cooperation between agencies, levels of education and public awareness, technology and social media. The solution to these obstacles is that the Police need to make it easier for the public to use access to services, expand relationships with other agencies, and often hold socialization to the community so that the public understands the negative impact of criminal acts of persecution.
