Abstract

Workload is closely related to work stress which can potentially cause burnout. Various psychological disorders can attack nurses in carrying out their duties, causing nurses to become emotionally exhausted. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between work stress and burnout in nurses at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. The data collection method used correlation with a sample size of 249 nurses. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. The data analysis method used was Spearman Rank. Based on the analysis test, the results showed that there was a significant influence between work stress and burnout in nurses at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province with a correlation coefficient value (r) of 0.051 and a significance value (p) of 0.420 (p <0.05). This shows that there is a relationship between work stress variables and burnout in nurses at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province
