Abstract

Final exam anxiety is a feeling of fear of final year students in school to graduate from education, so to overcome the anxiety that occurs, coping strategies are needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between coping strategies and anxiety in facing final exams in students at boarding schools. The sample of this study amounted to 79 3rd grade students at Darul Qur'an Siak Islamic Boarding School using quota sampling technique. The instruments used in this study are the German Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI-G) scale which has 30 statement items and the Academic Coping Strategies Scale (ACSS) which consists of 56 statement items. Based on the results of the Pearson Product Moment correlation test, the correlation (r) = -0.014 and with a significance value of 0.786 (p<0.05). This shows that there is no significant relationship between coping strategies and anxiety in facing final exams in students at the Darul Qur'an Siak Islamic boarding school.
