Abstract

In the midst of increasingly complex global economic dynamics, entrepreneurship has become one of the choices of people in contributing to the economy of their country, one of which is UMKM. Entrepreneurs must have an entrepreneurial personality that can be demonstrated through the ability to find, assess, and commit to entrepreneurship. This study aims to analyze the effect of grit on commitment entrepreneurship in entrepreneurs in Pekanbaru. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression analysis technique. The sample in the study amounted to 200 entrepreneurs taken using random sampling techniques. The research instrument involved a grit scale and an entrepreneurship commitment scale that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that there was a significant positive effect between grit personality and commitment entrepreneurship (? = 0.630, p ? 0.05). Entrepreneurs with high levels of grit showed stronger persistence and consistency in achieving long-term goals, which supported their commitment to entrepreneurship. The majority of respondents were in the category of grit and moderate entrepreneurial commitment, indicating room for further development. This study contributes to the literature on entrepreneurial psychology, especially in understanding the role of grit personality as a predictor of commitment entrepreneurship. This study also suggests the importance of developing workshops and training for entrepreneurs to improve their competence and persistence in facing business challenges.
