Abstract

Parking lot consumers are often disadvantaged if the vehicle or goods are lost or damage occurs during storage in the parking lot. Regarding parking management, one of the cases that the researcher will research is the case of loss in the parking area in Pekanbaru City where the service in the parking lot in Pekanbaru City is not responsible for the loss of goods in the parking lot it manages while the people who park their vehicles in the parking lot in the city of Pekanbaru is charged a fee of Rp 2,000 every time you park your vehicle in the area, but the party of the parking service in the parking lot in the city of Pekanbaru does not want to be responsible for the loss of consumer goods that have used the services of a parking attendant. The formulation of the problem in this study is: How is the form of legal protection for the loss of deposited goods in the use of parking services in the city of Pekanbaru, What are the obstacles in implementing legal protection for the loss of deposited goods in the use of parking services in the city of Pekanbaru. Empirical Law Research is a legal research method that uses empirical facts taken from human behavior, both verbal behavior obtained from interviews and real behavior carried out through direct observation. Empirical research is also used to observe the results of human behavior in the form of physical relics and archives In determining the amount of compensation to be paid, it is basically necessary to adhere to the principle that the compensation to be paid as much as possible makes the losing party return to its original position if there is no loss or in other words the position that should have been if the loss of the motor vehicle had not occurred. Parking officers are in charge of providing assistance to consumers who have lost their vehicles in the parking lot in the parking lot in the city of Pekanbaru, as parking officers. then his negligence causes the loss of consumer vehicles. The obstacle in obtaining legal protection in determining the standard of parking service provisions for vehicles lost in parking lots in the city of Pekanbaru is that most vehicle owners prefer to report to the police station rather than following the existing standard operating procedures of the parking office. This is an obstacle to the implementation of legal protection in determining the standard of parking service provisions for lost vehicles.
