Abstract
The author's background in this thesis is that it is based on the fact that there are people who adopt children without a court order, but rather the community adopts children by simply making an agreement based on word of mouth, which will make Legal protection and children's rights will not be fulfilled, which is also contrary to Law no. 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law no. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection and Government Regulation no. 54 of 2007 concerning Implementation of Child Adoption. The problem formulation in this thesis is; First, what is the legal protection for adopting a child without a court decision in Muara Langsat Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Second, what are the legal consequences of adopting a child without a court decision in Muara Langsat Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The research methods used are seen from the type, including empirical legal research, where researchers use facts that have occurred in society to obtain data and also use survey methods, where the author goes directly to the field to collect data after data which is concluded as writing material in In this research, the author's tool for collecting data uses the method of direct interviews with the parties concerned. The nature of this research is deductive, which provides a clear picture of legal protection against adoption of children without a court decision in Muara Langsat Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The results of the research and discussion found that legal protection for adoption of children without a court decision in Muara Langsat Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Firstly, there is no legal protection, both legal protection for adopted children and legal protection for adoptive parents and there are no rights. - the rights of adopted children towards their adoptive parents and the absence of an adopted child's inheritance of the adoptive parents' assets, where the process of adopting a child is carried out contrary to applicable laws, both religious and other laws. Second, the legal consequences that arise are that there is no legal relationship between the adoptive parents and the adopted child because there is no legal evidence that the adoption of the child was carried out according to the applicable regulations.
