Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how to evaluate the function and to find out what obstacles the Village Consultative Body (BPD) has in monitoring the performance of the Village Head in Kuala Semundam Village, Bandar Petalangan District, Pelalawan Regency. If we look at its characteristics, this research falls into the qualitative research group. Based on the research results seen in the context of evaluation indicators related to the title "Evaluation of the Function of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in Supervising the Performance of Village Heads in Kuala Semundam, Bandar Petalangan District, Pelalawan Regency" that the monitoring function of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) on the performance of Village Heads has been carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. Applicable regulations allow the Village Consultative Body (BPD) to supervise the performance of the Village Head. The BPD assists the village head in carrying out village administration. The working relationship between the BPD and the village government is based on consultation and coordination. The BPD and village head establish village regulations together through community aspirations. The main obstacles in implementing supervision carried out by the BPD on the performance of Village Heads include lack of funding and the absence of special training to improve supervisory capabilities. BPD members often do not receive sufficient training on management and supervision techniques, so they have less effective skills. In addition, less effective supervision can be caused by the limited number of BPD members.
