Abstract

This research aims to determine community empowerment by the Government of Sungai Selodang Village, Sungai Mandau District, Siak Regency. This type of research is descriptive using qualitative methods in data collection. Data was collected using observation, interviews and documentation steps. The results of research on community empowerment by the Sungai Selodang Village government which is seen from 3 (three) indicators, namely 1) Development, 2) Strengthening Potential or Power, and 3) Protecting have been implemented. In the programs provided to the community by the Kampung Sungai Selodang government in 2023-2024 there are various types or forms of empowerment activities such as cultivating gourami fish, raising cattle, laying hens, and improving welding skills. The obstacles faced in community empowerment by the Sungai Selodang Village government during carrying out activities are in the form of community viewpoints or insights. Where the community thinks that the empowerment program is only limited to receiving assistance and training, after that it is no longer developed by the community.
