Abstract

This research aims to determine the occurrence of panic buying for investors at the GI BEI Investment Gallery, Faculty of Economics and Business, Riau University during the COVID-19 period. The population in the research is the Investment Gallery of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Riau University. Using accidental sampling technique with the number of final samples used as many as 37 people. The type of data used is qualitative data obtained from the distribution of questionnaires to the UNRI Investment Gallery. Data analysis techniques in this study used descriptive analysis. The results show that investors in the UNRI Investment Gallery experienced panic buying during the COVID-19 period and tend to be biased in heuristic groups, especially in availability which shows that investor behavior is so fast and simple in making decisions when faced with various information they get.
