Abstract

Smokers are not strange people who are seen by the public, in fact this has become a common thing in daily life, including in Indonesia. It is not uncommon to find a smoker everywhere. Judging from the databoks.com that recorded data from the Shouteast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance (SEATCA) report titled Tobacco Control Atlas that smokers in Indonesia reached 65 million people. Although the number of smokers is very large, it does not mean that all places have provided special places for smokers. Especially if there is no special place or there is no special notice such as "No Smoking", then smokers will still do it anywhere because they feel that there is nothing prohibiting it. This is because smoking is considered common and there are no special rules from the government for a smoker, so smokers feel that the activity is ordinary. In fact, it is very disturbing to the comfort of the people around them, especially those who are close to smokers. This problem can be overcome with an automatic device that can detect the presence of smoke by monitoring the camera in the bathroom using the MQ-135 sensor and locking the bathroom door automatically. Researchers want to develop a method for detecting cigarette smoke using IoT services. This device can make it easier for the person in charge of security to know which bathrooms are detected by cigarette smoke and provide automatic door lock warnings. With the IoT service, the collection of smoke level data and photos will send telegram notification alerts to the person in charge of security. The application of this technology can be an alternative to smoke detection and monitoring through cameras and automatic door locks.
