Abstract
This research discusses about Consumer Protection Against users of Animal Custody Services in Review of Law No. 8 of 1999 in Pekanbaru City. Animal care services are a very profitable aspect. Although it is relatively new and the number is still very minimal, this business is well-known by pet owners and is very useful especially during the holiday season. Usually consumers leave their pets behind because they have to go out for a while. Therefore, pet care services are widely used for consumers during holidays such as vacations and school holidays. However, sometimes the animals that can be entrusted to a daycare center are limited to cats and dogs. The main obligation of the daycare center is to take care of the entrusted animals for the agreed period of time. In return for the services performed by the animal shelter, the depositor is obliged to pay a fee in accordance with the agreement. If the animal shelter makes a mistake in the process so that the depositor suffers a loss, the shelter must be responsible. With consumer awareness of all their rights, possible losses in the future can be avoided. The obligation of the entrepreneur in that case the animal shelter must respect the rights of consumers and if the consumer is harmed because the entrepreneur does not fulfill his obligations then the animal shelter must be responsible. This research examines and discusses the legal protection of consumers for animal care home users. Based on the things that have been explained, for this reason, a research was conducted entitled "Consumer Protection Against users of Animal Care Services in Review of Law No. 8 of 1999 in Pekanbaru City". Therefore, the problems in this research are: 1) What are the requirements and processes for animals to be deposited in animal care? animal day care? 2) How is the responsibility of the animal care business to the consumers in the event of loss?
