Abstract
The Decision Support System (DSS) is an important tool in assisting complex decision making, including determining recipients of aid for poor students. This research aims to develop a SPK that can help SDN 018 Sei Manasib in the selection process for aid recipients using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The SAW method was chosen because of its simplicity in calculating the total score from several predetermined criteria. The criteria used in this SPK include parents' occupation, parents' income, number of parents' dependents, distance to school, and access to school. The implementation results show that SPK based on the SAW method can increase objectivity and transparency in the aid recipient selection process. This system is able to minimize bias and human error, and provide more accurate and fair recommendations. Apart from that, this SPK also increases time efficiency in the selection process compared to manual methods. Thus, it is hoped that this SPK can be an effective solution for SDN 018 Sei Manasib in distributing aid to poor students who really need it, and can be adapted and developed further for use in various other educational institutions.
