Abstract
This study aims to determine the obstacles to Biology teacher candidates at Riau Islamic University in the learning process during the implementation of KPLP for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This research is quantitative descriptive. The method used in this study is a survey method. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The sample in this study were 48 students, using a saturated sampling technique. The questionnaire distributed consisted of 33 statements for the obstacles to implementing learning models. The results of the study showed that the indicator on the barriers to prospective teachers in implementing the learning model that had the highest score was the indicator of Educational Background of Prospective Science/Biology Teachers with a percentage of 85.68% (very good category), while the indicators of barriers to prospective teachers in implementing learning models had the lowest score is an indicator of the learning model with a percentage of 69.41% (good category). Based on the results of research that has been done on the obstacles to Biology teacher candidates at Riau Islamic University in applying learning models, it can be concluded that the difficulties of prospective teachers in applying learning models are in the good category with a percentage of 75.96%.
