Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' higher order thinking skills in solving problems on the daily test questions on the respiratory system material at the high school level. This research is a descriptive research. The instruments used were interviews and higher order thinking skills questions on the respiratory system material. The research was conducted from 21 to 27 April 2022. The samples in this study were all students of class XI MIPA at SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. The research was carried out face-to-face with a total sample of 147 students. The results showed that the overall higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru were in the low category with a percentage of 37.35%. Based on each question in the category of questions C4 is in the low category with a percentage of 46.50%, in the category of questions C5 is in the medium category with a percentage of 37.22% and in the category of questions C6 is in the low category with a percentage of 28.34%.
