Abstract
Augmented Reality (AR) technology has become a significant innovation in various fields, including education. This thesis aims to develop an AR-based microscope learning application that can be used by Junior High School (SMP) students to increase their interest and motivation to learn and their understanding of microscopy and microbiology. This research uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method which involves several stages: concept, design, material collection, manufacture, testing, and distribution. This application is designed to provide three-dimensional (3D) object animations of microscope components that can be viewed through AR devices. ARCore SDK technology is used as a library for implementing AR features in this application. Application testing is carried out using black box testing method to ensure the application function runs well and provides an interactive and fun learning experience for users. The results of this study show that the application of microscope learning with AR can increase the attractiveness and effectiveness of the learning process. Teachers and students report that this application helps them understand microbiology material better and makes teaching and learning activities more interesting. Thus, this application has the potential to be an effective alternative learning media in the field of science education at the junior high school level.
