Abstract

The Effect Of Realistic Mathematics Education Approach Towards Students Mathematics Learning Outcomes At Class VIII Of SMPN 6 Siak Hulu Maimunah NPM. 196410093 Thesis, Mathematics Education Study Program, FKIP Islamic University of Riau Advisor: Dr. Hj. Zetriuslita, S.Pd., M.Si ABSTRACT Learning outcomes are influenced by the processes carried out during learning. The mathematics learning outcomes of students are generally low, so the purpose of this study is to determine the influence of the Realistic Mathematics Education approach on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMPN 6 Siak Hulu. This form of research is quasi-experimental or pseudo-experimental. The design used in this study is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study is all grade VIII students of SMPN 6 Siak Hulu for the 2022/2023 school year, totaling 192 people, consisting of 6 classes, namely grades VIII1 – VIII6. Sampling in this study used side purposive techniques, so that the determination of selected samples was class VIII4 totaling 32 people as an experimental class and class VIII3 totaling 32 people as a control class. Based on the results of posttest data analysis, it was found that t_hitung=6.08 >t_tabel=2.04, then H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. This means that the mathematics learning outcomes of students who use the PMR approach are better than conventional learning. So it was concluded that there was an influence of the PMR approach on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students of SMPN 6 Siak Hulu.
