Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mistakes made by students in solving problems on integer material. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were 22 class VII students of SMP N 1 Senayang. Data collection techniques in this study were test techniques using descriptive test instruments and non-test techniques in the form of observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out by going through several stages which included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study it was found that; (1) S-12 make mistakes using formulas, make mistakes in solving operations, and make mistakes in concluding answers. (2) S-6 perform error solving operations and errors concluding answers. (3) S-2 make mistakes using formulas, error solving operations, and errors in concluding answers. (4) S-16 make mistakes using formulas, solving operation errors, and errors in concluding answers. (5) S-19 make mistakes in understanding, mistakes in using formulas, mistakes in solving operations, and mistakes in concluding. (6) S-22 make mistakes using formulas, error solving operations, and errors in concluding answers. Factors causing the occurrence of errors made by most students are students not understanding the concept of solving integer problems, not understanding the questions, and students' ability to calculate in carrying out solving operations is also still low.
