Abstract

Development of a Handout Learning Tool with a Realistic Mathematical Approach on the Subject of Linear Equations of Two Variables in Class x SMAN 4 Mandau RETNO PUSPA SRI PRATIWI Npm : 166411023 Thesis of the Mathematics Study Program FKIP Islamic University of Riau. Advisor : Endang Istikomah, S.Pd., M.Pd ABSTRACT This study aims to produce a mathematics learning tool in the form of a Handout Book with a realistic mathematical approach that has been tested for validity and practicality. The development of learning tools in research uses the R&D method with a modified development model from Sugiyono, namely: (1) potentials and problems; (2) data collection; (3) product design; (4) design validity; (5) design revisions; (6) product trials; (7) product revisions; (8) final product. The research instrument was the Handout Book, validation sheets, student response questionnaires. The data collection techniques used were validation data from experts and teacher response questionnaire data, student response questionnaires. The analysis technique used is the analysis used is descriptive analysis. This product trial was carried out in class X SMA N 4 Mandau with a total of 32 students. Based on the assessment of 3 validators, the Handout Book received a rating of 94% from the first validator, 75% from the second validator and 82% from the third validator. So it can be concluded that the average obtained from the three validators is 83.66% which is categorized as valid. Based on the results above, the teacher's response sheet was 82% and the student's response sheet was 75.43%, so an average practicality of learning tools was obtained by 78.7% which was included in the quite practical category. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that this development research produced a mathematics learning tool with a realistic mathematical approach to the material of two-variable linear equations in class X SMA N 4 Mandau that has been tested for its validity and practicality.
