Abstract
Alternating current is an electrical current and voltage that changes with time and flows in both directions. Alternating current is usually utilized for electronic equipment. Technological developments at this time have developed rapidly, one of which is augmented reality which can be used as a learning medium in order to attract students' interest in teaching and learning activities and learning media that are still monotonous in textbooks where these textbooks have several weaknesses such as book designs that are often inappropriate make Grade 12 students of SMAN 10 Pekanbaru tend to be passive, Saturated and less interactive because image media is not able to provide reciprocal responses, still uses conventional methods, and still lacks the use of technology. This application was created with the aim of building an alternating current learning medium using android-based augmented reality to carry out teaching and learning activities as well as to increase student learning motivation and students' understanding of material regarding alternating current. The application is created using Blender 3D, Unity as a 3D display and by using the markerless method and using the ARCore SDK library. Based on the tests carried out, animations can be displayed indoors and outdoors and can track locations anywhere provided that the light intensity is at least 6 lux light intensity, and in distance testing, at a distance of at least 5cm 3D animations can appear. Based on user testing, a presentation of 85.28% was obtained so that the application can be implemented as a learning medium for alternating currents using augmented reality for students.
