Abstract
Strategy for the Development of Patin Fish Hatchery in XIII Koto Kampar District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Guidance of Mr. Dr. Ir. Ujang Paman Ismail, M.Agr and Mr. Dr. Fahrial, SP., SE., ME The catfish hatchery and rearing business is a mainstay of freshwater aquaculture activities in Riau Province, especially Kampar Regency. The catfish hatchery activity in Kampar Regency was initially carried out by farmers to meet their own needs for catfish enlargement activities. This study aims to analyze: 1) Farmer characteristics and business profile, 2) Catfish hatchery business, and 3) Patin fish business development strategy. The research was conducted in XIII Koto Kampar District, Kampar Regency from December 2022 to June 2023. The method used in this research was a survey method. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative, quantitative, statistical analysis, and SWOT analysis. The results showed that 1) The characteristics of farmers based on the average age were at productive age, namely 39.71 years, the average level of education was 15.29 years (equivalent to S1), the average farming experience was 6.43 years, and the average -The average number of family dependents is 2 people. The farming profile is based on an average land area of 0.56 Ha with the status of owning the land. The workforce is outside the family workforce with an average workforce of 3 people. The average amount of capital owned by farmers is Rp. 14,857,142.86 with the source of capital coming from own capital. 2) The technology for cultivating catfish hatcheries is recommended. The use of production factors by farmers consists of the use of seeds (larvae) an average of 607,142.86 Tails/Production Period, an average artemia feed of 1.21 Kg/Production Period, an average silkworm feed of 136.48 Kg/ During the Production Period, the average pellet feed was 32.86 Kg/Production Period. The average use of labor is 96 HOK/Production Period. The total production costs incurred by farmers are an average of Rp. 51,993,807.94/Production Period. The average production amount is 503,571.43 head/production period. The average gross income is Rp. 80,571,428.57/production period and an average net income of Rp. 28,577,620.63/Production Period. The efficiency of catfish hatchery farming is 1.55/Production Period. RCR > 1, meaning the catfish hatchery business is efficient and profitable. 3) The results of the SWOT analysis are the development of catfish hatcheries, increasing production capacity, utilizing advances in technology to produce higher quality seeds, expanding marketing networks with market penetration, increasing mastery of technology, and managing the catfish hatchery business.
