Abstract
Koto Mesjid Tourism Village, located in XIII Koto Kampar District, Kampar Regency, has achieved significant accomplishments in its tourism development. With its rich natural resources, particularly catfish aquaculture, the village has successfully attracted both domestic and international tourists. Support from various parties, including the government, academics, and local communities, has driven the growth of this tourism village. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, limited funding, and lack of promotion remain obstacles to overcome. This study aims to evaluate the development of Koto Mesjid Tourism Village in XIII Koto Kampar District, Kampar Regency, using the concept of a superior tourism village. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach to identify the existing conditions of the tourism village. Time series analysis is used to compare the village's development over five years, while the Likert scale is utilised to measure the community's perception of the village's development based on established guidelines. The evaluation of attractions reveals that 86% of respondents perceived an increase in product innovation in Koto Mesjid Tourism Village. Regarding accessibility, 81.3% of respondents felt that access to information about the village was fairly easy. Additionally, 85.3% of the amenities evaluation indicated the presence of homestays and adequate parking facilities. Lastly, 88% of the human resource evaluation stated that the community supports Pancasila values. These findings demonstrate the significant potential of Koto Mesjid Tourism Village to develop into a more advanced tourist destination. However, to realise this potential, continuous efforts are needed to improve infrastructure quality, develop new tourism products, and enhance the quality of services provided to tourists.
