Abstract
Water availability is one of the fundamental aspects that influences the quality of life. Domestic raw water includes water used for household activities in general, which is very important to provide in adequate quantities and of good quality. This research aims to assess water availability for domestic raw water needs in the Siban Sub-watershed. The method used is descriptive-quantitative analysis. Water availability was analyzed using the Thornthwaite-Mather method used to calculate the water balance and water demand was analyzed using the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 6728.1-2015 concerning Preparation of Resource Balances-Part 1: Spatial Water Resources. Calculations using this method are based on the adequacy of climatological data, soil type, slope slope, land cover and population to determine domestic raw water needs. The land use conditions of the Siban Sub-watershed are dominated by settlements at 50.46%, the slope with a slope class of 3 – 8% (Slope) is 67.61%. Tropaquepts soil type with an area of 48.85%. The dominant rainfall level is 2,800 – 2,900 mm/year with an area of 51.91%. Water availability in the Siban Sub-watershed based on the Thornthwaite-Mather method is 275,376,241 m3/year, where the highest water availability occurs in December, 43,628,816 m3/month and the lowest water availability occurs in January, namely 3,363,028 m3/month. Domestic raw water requirements in the Siban Sub-watershed currently amount to 45,744,063 m3/year. So there is excess water of 270,801,838 m3/year. The water balance condition in the Siban Sub-watershed is a deficit in July and August. The availability of water in the Siban Sub-watershed is more than sufficient and can even meet the water needs of the non-domestic, livestock, fisheries and industrial sectors.
